Ok boys haven't been on in while, got married and placed on lock down.Well i have escaped the evil clutches of the warden for the moment.Don't have lots of time due to cell checks,so i will be fast. How much of a difference does having a 3:15 diff make.I have the stock diff on a 1997 540ia with dinan trans software.I was told that i will loose my top end if i switch to 3:15,and i was better off with i have.If anyone has any input this would be great........shit have to run i hear the foots steps, and a frying pan clanning against the bars....untill we speak again my brother's.... peace.

Mine is a 1997 auto.Non-sport.I think the ones with the sportpackage came with a different diff than mine.Mine is 2:82 or something like that. And yours is a newer year than mine so they may have changed the diff.

you won't lose too much top end, I still could hit speed limiter at around 4500rpm.

One thing though, I'd definetly would like an LSD, open diff is really really really gay.

Although I have yet to install mine, it has been dubbed the "Poor man's supercharger". I was speaking with a guy that did the mod and he said when he raced a stock car he could pull 2-3 car lengths on it by 100mph.

Hope this helps

In response to me selling my ride,or demodding.NOT HAPPINING. My wife knows what makes me a happy man,and she wouldn't like me when i am not.So its safe to say it stays.BUT IN THE EVENT I DO END UP EVER DEMODDING MY RIDE,YOU WILL HAVE A HUGE FIGHT ON YOUR HANDS FROM CLARENCE(AKA)QUACKERS, GOOD LUCK

lol..

Derrick, I thought your car was 6spd. Automatic's usually have a higher diff than manuals.

in any case, a 315 over the 282 should be fine.

Derrick if it's just a 3:15 diff don't do it, find one with LSD than it would really be worth it

Are you sure?

B/c my dad's 535i didn't have it, but before he bought it he made the dealer switch one in. It was part of the terms of the sale.

no actually I'm not. but its said that all E34's with winter package have it. and all E34's sold in canada were supposedly to have winter packages. If your dad had headlight washers, it had the winter package.

I could have sworn they were at least sport seats. they def didnt look like the normal ones. Thye looked similar to the E30 sport seats.

Man it was so long ago lol it was a 1991 if that helps.
