Hey evrybody,
I'm just looking to see if theres any interest. I am interested in possibly trading my differential with an m3 if anyone is intersted. I have a 3.91 LSD, its alot of fun and gives the car crazy power off the line. Also if you like doing burnouts this is a burnout machine. With this Diff and the mods on my 328is stock m3's are no match for it.

The reason I'm am looking to trade is because in the spring when I put my car back on the road I willl be doing about 90% highway driving, and this is diff is much better suited for more bottom end, however your car will still haul ass on the highway with this.
This diff has been used with Redline 75W90 fluid only, so it is well maintained.

I'm intersted in either the diffential from either a manual or auto m3. Or anything that will give me a midrange between the 3.91 and stock 2.91 (i think this is what it is). Also it has to be a LSD. I'm not really sure what the gear ratios are that come on differernt models, so if someone could chime in with some info about this would be great. Also I'm not sure how this trade would go down but I guess we'd figure this out when the time came.

So if anyone is interested please write, or if anyone has any info about differnt available Diffs for e36's please jump in on this thread. Thanks.

get a 3.15, 3.23, or a 3.38. Your best luck in finding a 3.38 to find an auto m3 that was made in 97 or after and get the lsd from that. 3.15's are pretty easy to find, they are pretty common. You probly already know everything that im telling you right now but o well. Send thinair a pm and ask him how he likes his 3.15 lsd. Theres also some previous threads on this if i can remember correctly so you could probly do a search and come up with some good results. Best of luck on selling yurs.peace

I had a 3.15 for a couple years, and I've had a 3.38 for a year now. The 3.38 is great, but is a bit noisy on the highway (140km/h at 4000rpm, gear limited to 240km/h @ 7000rpm in 5th). The 3.15 was great as well, a huge improvement over the stock 2.93. I don't regret my swap to 3.38 though.

No auto e36 325 came with a 3.15, they came with 3.91 diffs.

My opinion, get a 3.23, they're fairly common (96-99 5spd M3's), not bad on the highways, and you'll still get some decent pull.

Thinair a 3.38 is ideally what I'm looking for.
I don't really wanna go to a 3.15 because I think its gonna be feel really slow off the line after this 3.91. But the 3.23 would be great.

Anyone know where I could possibly find one for sale? I live in Windsor so BMW's especially M3's arent nearly as plentiful as they are in the Toronto Area.

euro* if I am able to find another diff I will definitly want to sell mine, however this is my daily driver (in spring) so I have to find another one first because I don't want to resort to putting the stock open diff back in.

Actually also if someone is interested in buying a stock 2.91 Diff I also have one for sale, give me an offer.

You have a 2.93, which is pretty tall, and it's 99% chance non-LSD.

No thanks man, I still have my stock diff at home as well, It just sits here if I knew someone who wanted it, I'd sell it for sure.
Thanks anyway.

im asking this since it might help your sale:

How much HP do you think i'd have to add to my stock 328 so that with this differential i'll be able to keep up with an m3?

With this diff you could definitly take an m3 off the line with a stock 328 engine, but he'd catch up at high speeds because of the horsepower difference. This diff willl make your car pull like hell off the line as long as you can drive and not just roast your tires.

With the mods on my car I can beat a stock m3 no problem in a straight line race.
