Well I've finally decided to take the plunge and get a digital SLR. I've hit the pinnacle of point and shoot cams and I've decided that compactness is not the main priority for me. So to make a smaller dent in the wallet with the SLR, my SD500 is up for sale. The SLR will use CF so I have no use for the SD cards.
The camera is in mint condition. It comes with an acryllic glass LCD protector. Do your homework, you'll see that's the #1 complaint about these cameras. The screen is huge but there is no protection for it, and they crack easily. Canon will not replace them under warranty and it's a $$$ repair. After a lot of searching I tried this one and it looks OEM. If you don't like it for whatever reason it comes off cleanly, I've tried. The sticky strips come off with no residue. But it seriously looks like it came that way. The camera is just a little thicker as a result but trust me it's worth it. Since this is my cam... I don't have any pics handy but I'll try to take some.
I'll be back in Toronto this Saturday and you can have it anytime after that, before Jan 7th.
The memory is crazy fast. The 1 gig card still blows me away. It's a 30x ATP. (retails for $110 alone) I will also throw in a Canon leather case and 2 extra batteries.
There is really nothing that can come close. There are some with comparable features, but... it's a Canon, that says enough really. It's also sexy as hell.
This is what it looks like:
