Ok heres my problem. When I"m at idle my RPM will bounce a couple times, its more obvious when the heat is set higher and is pumping harder. Any ideas as to whats up? thanks in advance

Im not sure i got an answer for you, my rpm bounces between about 400-600. Is that normal? should i clean the ICV? that's what i was planning to do, but i've never driven another 328 paying attention to the idle

only happens to me in the winter and when the car is cold, and it bounces just a few times when I start the car and then not once again.

You mean WWJD? :P

When you say the tach bounces a couple times.. you mean when you release the throttle?.. it bounces a few times, then stabalizes?.. or all the time at idle?.. or only on a cold idle?

allt he time at idle, like if I stop at a light, its more so when the heat is cranked

The idle in my car always bounces between 400-600, unless im moving around in idle (clutch is partway released)

Its not a huge deal for me, car doesn't stall, but it is annoying and i'd like to fix it

Don't sweat it. My 318i does the same thing - sometimes when I first start it cold it'll almost stall, then its like the computer wakes up and bumps up the idle. Other times when its half hot and I re-start it'll stall with the checkengine lite on - then it goes off after I drive away a few blocks. Weird cars .
