I'm trying to fire up my e28 528e so I can put my e36 to rest for the winter. I'm not getting any spark. I have 12V on both sides of the ignition coil, and I've tried two coils.

I've done continuity tests on both the speed and reference cranks sensors in the bell housing, I've tried swapping them with each other, etc, etc.

I dunno, what are the chances the ECU is dead, or how can I check for that?

locate the fuel pump relay & the main relay & check if they r working or not.

He just said he's not getting any spark?

Im not sure where to tell you to start, its turning over right? Im sure u'd probably be able to tell if the timing belt snapped right? Check that first, then open up the distributor cap, maybe sure the cap and rotor are fine.

You also have to check to see if your getting anything at the coil....then trace things back....which could lead to an ECU or something.

Make sure u checked all the fuses.

I donno what else to tell you without being there myself.
