Hey guys,

Found my driver's side mirror hanging this morning. I can only think it was the pizza guy or some kid late at night.

It looks like I can pop it back in because nothing looks snapped. Anyone done this before?

Thanks!

Thanks Justin. It looked bad when I saw it from inside the house, but I noticed nothing was broken and the little "nubs" looked like they were meant to do that...

Just didn't want to force it if someone else knew better.

Thanks again...

p.s. ****in pizza guy....

Yes mine seem to pop off quite easy and its annoying! They can even come off from someone or something slightly bumping into them. I know there is a way to secure them so that they won't come off. I think I will do that as sometimes when I am drying them if the chamois sticks they pop off.

tsk tsk, that's why you retrofit mirrors that fold up automatically. (see avatar) no more worries about mirrors popping off like lego. :)

Someone took off my driver side mirror, when it popped off, the paint chipped at the seam of the mirror, and the two pins that hold the mirror in place scratched my door and fender, and damaged my door seal as well. :(

I wouldn't change the mirrors though... they're designed that way so that instead of snapping off, they just pop out. if you secure them permanently and somone clips your mirror... it's going to cost alot of $ to get a new one...

well not just that... it would probably break at the base and ruin your door mirror mounts.

damn that sucks dude....thank god the paint job didn't get damaged

I did the reinforcement listed on dtmpower by bolting the base and mirror together.....I rather have the mirror be damaged then have it hanging by a cord mashin my door up and shit...

Keeping in mind that an OEM M3 mirror is like $500 each. The paint damage to my door and fender should easily buff out.

lol, I definetly didn't pay 500 for one mirror and i see em go on forums for 200 bucks all the time for two....I'd rather just replace the mirror....last thing i want is a dent/ding/scratch on my door or fender
