1992 318i
124km
fully loaded black on black leather (sunroof, fogs, heated seats, etc.)
all original, no mods, no rust
16" type-45 rims (relatively new at the time from e46's)
maintenance done at maranello bmw
brand new tires
interior + exterior detailed
1 year warranty (which I used A LOT... even when a cluster bulb died, they replaced it free. bent one of my type-45 rims, they replaced that too. even when my foglights got stolen, they replaced them.)

purchased 3 years ago @ Prestige Toys on Finch
$9,800 CDN (cert + e-tested)

Here's the pic from auto trader. (it came with a euro license plate + bracket since the car was originally from Quebec. It was a dealer item that says "BMW 318i" on it with the BMW logo in the middle.)

http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=27572&stc=1

*** by the way, this picture is how I managed to get the Type-45 rims for free. When I went to check out the car it has stock 15's on it. After putting my deposit on the car, I asked them about the rims. Turns out they put the rims on this car by mistake, they were supposed to end up on an e46, it just so happens when the guy from Autotrader came by to take the picture, he came when these rims were on. The dealer didn't believe these rims were on the car, so I went home and picked up my autotrader magazine to show him. After seeing it, he yelled at his staff members and regretably gave them to me. *wave*

... so technically, the price doesn't include these rims. They were a 'bonus'. Now they're winter rims though. :P

The prices are all over the place mainly because of WHEN they were bought, when i bought my car 3-4 years ago, as you'll notice with other members, there was a premium on the price cause there wasn't such a large selection of BMW's at the time!

"there was a premium on the price cause there wasn't such a large selection of BMW's at the time!"

I've noticed that T.O can have some good used prices..
Ottawa is very sad though

you do a online autotrader search in T.O $20K to 1$ you get 3,4 pages.
Ottawa area you get 1 page :D *thmbsdwn*

Also because the deprication hit - the facelifted e46 came out and the bangle cars started coming out. At least before that time the E36 still looked like a modern new-ish BMW.

So, I don't think you got ripped Kev. When I got my car I got it from a dealer as well, and it was the cheapest low miles car I ever found on Autotrader.

Ya, when i bought my car, it was the cheapest 325i at the time, sepcially with all the options mine had!

But it just sucks, knowing how much i paid for mine now.... if i waited, i coulda picked up an E36 M for close to the same price!

And you ottawa guys stop complaining.... although you don't always have such a large selection, the selection you do have is amazing. Everytime i'm in the trader, and i see a deal of the century... i look at the area code and........ BAM, Ottawa, you guys have it good when it comes to pricing!

Bought my baby on october 6th, (YAY 1 MONTH ANIVERSARY)
1998 bmw 328i sport package
167k on teh clock
5spd
i paid about 9300$

It needed a bit of work, probably about 350-450 to safety, i've already thrown about a grand into it, now its running reasonably well. (or at least it would if i'd stop screweing around with it)

just as a warning to people who are planning on buying any bmw, especially an e36 as their first car. No one leaves these cars stock. Even people who leave them stock dont leave them stock. Leave some money for mods:D

1994 325i (non sports) 220Km + 2 year warrenty Under 9,000 back in January of this year.

Lady Doctor traded it in to buy a New Lexus. Found a her hospital badge and address book under the seats when I cleaned her out. She's still purrs at alomst 260Km. And anyone who went to maxcruise saw her haul the fully loaded laundry basket, and all the crap in her without any problems. Plus with Charlie being the only mechanic to touch her, hopefully she's got enough juice to last another 100K

I have to comment on that and Montreal is nothing compared to you guys in Ontario. I have bought 3 cars in less than a year in Ontario simply because you guys have the best deals in the world and im serious. I bought my 92 325i off a member from this site that came with a bunch of mods but high mileage but for $4000. Then i got a 97 Acura 2.2cl for only $2700 and just recently sold it for $7000 with only $200 in repairs to do. Then just a few weeks ago, i bought a 93 318Is in Ottawa for $7200. The 318 i overpayed a bit but you have to see the conditon its in and the mods it came with. it was the charcoal one in trader with the m3 kit and e46 330ci wheels.

Anyways, you guys rule when it comes to buying cars. The deals are in your own backyard, no where else.

I got the car for $8500 cash cert. and e-tested. And the next one i get will also be from a forum, sick prices!

Most of the cars you find at the Toronto dealers are usually FROM montreal.... hehehe, its cause they are usually accident cars, but when they're transfered from montreal to ontario there is no history with them.... hence the amazing prices!

Deals are everywhere. You just have to wait and watch, keeping track of everything you come across and driving a lot of cars !! I waited for a year to pick up my $4500 '95 318. Then I talked him down from 6 grand.
