That sucks... I like looking at your signature.... Makes me push harder so that maybe one day I would be so fortunate to own a E30 M3...

It's his Dad's M3. Don't get too excited.

I'd rather own my own shitbox and drive it how/when/where I wanted to that to have a couple of M's that I can only post about having online.

Neither do I, but that's for insurance purposes. I wouldn't be able to afford to insure a BMW in university, and civic's aren't much cheaper. That and the address is listed in Waterloo.

But it's MINE, as in NOBODY has a say in HOW or WHEN or WHERE I drive it.

Why in the world would you do this??? Bragging rights?? I'm 25 and I don't have either of my BMW's in my name, just to save a few hundred a year I don't care who's name it's in.

nelson i think he just stated that because people think its not his car or something (page 1)....

in any case its not fair for anyone to say or give anyone flack for them not "owning" their car(s).. there are so many reasons why, i own my car outright, worked my ass of for it, but would never give someone else grief over them not owning their car even if it was a shitbox.

(ps-if this is some personal battle i stepped into than excuse me i know were the door is :P)

No no, just in my opinion, I don't understand why a 17 year old who lives at home with a sports car would have a car in their own name, even if it's 100% their car. I was 22 with a clean record when I bought my car, there was a $2000/year difference between it being insured in my name or my parents (and I had a G licence already). I don't get why you'd just throw away money like that, and it's not like it costs anything to transfer ownership to ones child.

In the long run, HE has a bmw
I have a bmw.

He pays 15k/year insurance,
I go to europe twice a year,

Are you insured under any other cars in the house?

thinair

Are you insured under any other cars in the house?

When I had my truck, I was primary on that in the summer months, in the winter I'd store my car, so my pop would be primary on the truck, and the car would only theft/fire/etc. My mom is primary on her car all year round for obvious reasons.

Now we still have 3 vehicles, but my 328 and my 528 are aren't on the road at the same time, so I never need to be primary on any vehicle in the household.
