I've driven that combination and I was honestly not impressed. A fellow M5'er in the US has done the same thing when his 3.8 spun a rod bearing. Yes it's cool to drive around in 4th gear all day but that motor really feels lethargic. It makes the car behave exactly the opposite of what it used to be. It has planet building torque from idle but then it redlines at 5500 and when you shift it loses the revs very unwillingly (same with downshifting, in my car I blip the throttle and the needle spikes to 5 grand, with this thing it takes its sweet time).
It's different and cool but I honestly say I would take my car over that any day.
