View Full Version : Identify these wheels

Can any one tell me what these 17" wheels are from origanaly.
Does BMW put out a OEM 17" Wheel or are these aftermarket?

I paid $1400.00 for the set with tires (10% wear )...too much or is that fair ?

those maybe replicas but bmw did make oem rims like that.
$1400 is pretty good for those rims and if it was oem rims then $1400 is really good.

Is there any way to identify them as OEM wheels, markings or a stamping somewhere perhaps ?

those rims are M Parallel Type 66 from E39 5 series.
to tell if they are real...look on the back of the rim near the centre for the bmw logo and information of the rim stamped into the rim.

Well...im going to have to asume that they are after market... i can see no BMW markings anywhere inside the rim at all.

Yeah those look like replicas. Not necessarily a horrible thing, although OEM is usually preffered.

I think there are there is no ///M on the rim, Bmw makes that but its on there M540

thats true...oem would be better but $1400 for wheels and tires is still pretty good since the wheels look perfect. when you putting them on?:P

Not going to put them on till spring time.
I just got a set of 4 15" blizzak's 90% tread with these four wheels for the winter...350 bucks !! what a deal

You can easily tell that they are replicas because the "M" symbol is missing on the wheel. It just has the square notch where The "M" sticker goes. Nice wheel though. Comes on the m-tech 530's and 540's E39 and looks really good.... or maybe its just the m-tech kit that makes everything you put on an e39 look good :)

my contours dont have the square notch, dont have anything for the M symbol, but they're OEM

OEM wouldn't fit his car anyways, E39 has a diffferent offset.

I don't think contours have the notch, but the older M parallels do, and I think most of the newer M wheels do.
