Ugly as sin.
No side grills, not agressive enough, rims SUCK, and it's just plain ugly.

I hate the rear lights... And why is the ///M on the opposite side??

Other than that not too bad.

very subtle changes... almost hard to see... the front hood and bumper is different, as are the rear taillights and rear bumper.

Probably the US version will have less BHp due to cats being in the exhaust manifold...

Otherwise the Z4 has grown on me... :)

I agree, its sublte, I like it, except those nasty tail lights. And as was said before, Its about time!!

Is the reason the M's on the left because of the trunck lock?

Okay it's faster but compared to the MZ3 it lacks soul.
God I miss this car.

Should be a beast -- the standard Z4 handles better than a M3 already, and with the addition of 100 hps, the car should be very competitive on the track. It also comes with the brakes on the M3CSL.

I'm not sure why the car is close to 300 lbs heavier than a standard Z4 though...

I'm sure the cast iron S54 block has something to do with it.

Then bigger brakes, tougher tranny, bigger sway's etc.....

power numbers dissapointing? THe 3.0L made the same sprint 0-60 as the E46 M3. I'm a fan, never really liked the design but the 3.0 was a fun car to drive.

JazzM
10-26-2005, 12:15 PM
Yeah, theres also going to be the coupe version... based on the new Z4 coupe. Starting from 2006 in europe and 2007 in NA they will have the new 3.0L

i like it. the tail lights look much more updated and aggressive yet clean.
///M is on the left, because if you haven't noticed there is a key lock on the right, and most people are right handed. It'd look messy to have everything on the right.

all it needs are foglights.

The Alpina has a cast iron block as well and is not as heavy.

The brakes are actually lighter. Some of the suspension bits are also lighter too.

I don't doubt the z4m should be heavier, just closer to the 50kg instead of the 100kg that it is.

no it doesn't

e46 m3 is 10 second faster on Nurburgring than Z4 3.0l

I think it looks good, but needs a better rim choice.... BRING BACK SOEM DISH RIMS, i'm tried of all these flat face rims, whats the deal?!
And it needs some fogs pronto........ i think the M Z4 coupe should look sexy as hell!

e46 m3 is 10 second faster on Nurburgring than Z4 3.0l

The 100+ horsepower differential might have a something to do with the lap time difference... a Nurburgring track time combines many factors, not just handling.

There are plenty of Z4 owners who have had M3s as well, and the owners are nearly unanimous that the Z4 handles better. (See any other bimmer board with traffic)

In magazine tests, the Z4 has higher slalom speeds than a M3.

In the MZ4 promotional material, BMW states that the MZ4 is 15s faster than a M3 on the same track (not sure what the track is). Given that the power output is similar, and that the MZ4 suspension improvements appear to be minor, this suggests to me that handling on the Z4 is better.

I've driven both and you can definitely carry more speed in the corners with the Z4. The M3 is not a bad car - it is very good and I'm considering getting one as a daily driver - but it is a much heavier car with a higher CofG.

JazzM
10-27-2005, 06:24 PM
Well you forgot the obvious one that the Z4 is lighter than the M3...
