what diff ratio would be the best for a 318, i heard one from a auto 318 would be good but i was thinkin maybe one from the e30 m3 i think it was a 4.10 but that might be to high. anyone know what would work best.

e30 M3 diff will not fit, and auto 318 is not limited slip.
I would say a 95 M3's 3.91 diff would be a good addition. Some people would say that it is too short in the low gears though. But good acceleration.

I have a 3:91 lsd. Acceleration is decent but not that big of a difference from 0-100kph, however from 100kph - 190 I kill my buddy's 323.
The increase in tourque is substantial. Great for Auto X and donuts.
Rev's @ 4g's at 120kph Gas milage hasn't degreased either with the new ratio.
Top speed of 190 kph (governed) is @ 6g's not far off from stock redline.

3.38 or 3.23

what would i expect from a 3.38 or 3.23 and also i have a chip and would also like to have the same rpms, and also why put m3 3.91 in when i have 318?

wait 318 I don't know what the gear ratio is in those things so disregard what I have said about lsd's. For my 328 I would want a 3.38 cause I would get huge acceleratoin gains over my stock 2.93 open diff, but they are rare so I hooked up a 3.15 lsd

318 5 spd come stock with a 3:46 and are rather gutless. 3:91 takes that away.
3:64 would be alright too if you only wanted a very tame increase in power.
3:38 or 3:23..... 1981 Chevetts would kill you.
To add E30 diffs don't fit in a E36's (possibly would in a ti).
