Hey guys I found this 2003 530i with 18,910km/h and is Manual. I'am thinkin of getting it and making it my project car cause I'am going to collage right now and taken autobody and already knew alot before I went into the courses. The car looks like it will need a new driver air bag and and a new tranny due to the tranny is cracked most likely. The car is going for arould $13,000 but I think I could get it for $10,000-11,000 cause its been sitting there for awhile now

there's a lot of work there, you can see the whole front end pushed back enough that the front doors are hitting the front fenders
if you want a project car just buy a older E39 & start from there, if you are planning to redo eveything why not buy a 97 or 98 model

i think quack is right, i guess if you want a challenge then that might be a good project car but like he said it might be a better and less time, and money, consuming process to get an older E39 and go from there. that one looks like you might have to put some serious $$ into it not to mention the ammount of time rebuilding the front end and tranny. good luck with whatever you decide :)

hope you know how to pull a frame!!!!! thats about 5 hrs
Being in the insurance industry, the first thing I could think of is a 2003 530i is still worth quite a few bucks, wow
The hidden "reserve" for unforseen damage
The actual cost of repairs
must still be greater than the market value of the car for it to be considered a write off.
Sure, your going to do the work yourself, but you may be opening up a can of worms, the German kind LOL!
