Ok fellas... and ladies. my intake came today, is fawkin sweet. however they got my order wrong, i orderd a short ram intake which i was gonna heatshield and do this and that too blah blah blah... well instead they sent me a full out CAI the kind that tucks up inside the bumper. either way im happy i got it.

Now i have a question to those of you who have already put on their cai. what all did you have to remove down behind the bumper? i noticed my one horn is right in the path of where its supposed to run and it looks like the brake cooling duct? is that all or is their more. just want to get an idea of what im in for when i install this puppy

i relocated the horn so its held on the cruis control bracket, as for the brake cooling duct, my cai sits almost directly on top of it, touching it actually... its easy to remove but i wouldnt, because it seems like it kind of protects it from road dirt...

OK heres the update, i went in elbows deep to install it, and i ran into a clearence problem, i thought i could get away with just removing and relocating the horn, but the brake duct is infact in the way. the intake piping plus the filter is just a bit too long, so either im gonna trim the piping or maybe see if i can move the brake duct around or somtin i dont know, so for now i turned it into a short ram air intake. here are some pics, i also left the snorkle from the stock intake to push cool air onto the filter as i drive.

K&N CAI

the gain is pretty damn amazing, it sounds like a race car, pulls harder and deff has alot more noticable hp.

the brake duct is very easy to remove, and lots of people say it is useless... i would hunt down a spare one, mark and cut out the perfect size so that the filter sits inside, that would be really cool!

thats actually a pretty damn good idea. i can cut out the area i need to leave it still there so it "cools my brakes" lol and feeds my engine air. spanks for the idea, id rather get spare ducting and cut it out then find someone to cut my piping (which would be a hassel in its own) plus i could try somtin new for intakes lol.

yup, i'm sure you could find one in a scrap yard anywhere... i'm sure they would be cheap even at the dealership...

yup, I'm buying a set of 328 skirts painted to my body color, and then doing the same to the front/rear bumper, no plans for a lip as of yet.... thanks for the praise, ask justine36, he always seems to have parts...

*hangs head in shame* well my stupid ass finally figured it out, i didnt need to do much work other then removing one horn and relocating the other. I now have my full cold air intake installed. Its not totaly my fault, they sent me 2 different intake tubes whith connectors and it looked like the whole thing went together, only it wouldnt fit, too long. Sooo once i removed the horns and slipped the air filter down in there my earlier theroy was right that all i needed was the longer tube, and now BAM its fully installed i didnt have to remove or cut the brake duct and like 325isred my filter now rests ontop of the duct. so with no further ado i presnt the semi final install. I say semi cuz i might throw a heat shield in there too to keep the intake from heating up...

spooner_dee

Yes amazing gain, she pulls alot harder rpm's climb alot faster and she throws me back harder into the seat when i punch it, id say maybe a 6-8 hp gain maybe and yes thats being generious but thats how it feels. im VERY VERY VERY HAPPY. Again thanks for your help 325isred and ideas.

Thanks, felt my old sig was too boring and dark lol...

performance wise, exhaust i was thinking maybe remus, i liked revshots idea with the dual exhaust cept id have one pipe each side with dual outlet muflers maybe or i might just keep it simple and do a cat back. I might be buying a chip soon to squeeze some more hp and tq. 17 inch rims, coilovers sturt tower bars...

Looks wise the body it self will prob remain stock with the exception of a front lip and maybe a rear spoiler nothing big just a simple low cut one.

then of course finish the lighting i already started with some euro headlights prob with angel eyes, and smoked tails HID's. Tint the windows too, and build my stereo system lol.

I got tons of ideas and know pretty much exactly how the car will look and drive when done, just im on a tight budget so it will take time and piece by piece.

yup, its better that way, if you invest all your money into it first you will get bored of it! i've had my car now just a little over a year... looks a lot different now then when i first got it! I was thinking about putting in HID, but i came to the conclusion that its not worth the investment, and it might cause us problems with our CAI. so a pair of zkw euro projectors would be cool!

what kind of probs would HID lights cause with a CAI? never heard that b4

325isRED

because projector lights are bulkier under the hood, and when installing hid's you have to have a ballast and other things back there too... along with a cold air intake takes up a lot of room (some more than others), people tell me they had a hard time finding room under the hood to PROPERLY mount all this equipment. not saying that you will have this problem, but it is something to be considered

I see, ill keep that in mind when the time comes, i thought like it could cause a short or do somtin crazy or somtin. I got tons of time b4 i get around to all that stuff.
