Hi,

I kow nothing about E34s and I am considering getting a wagon as a family car. I keep seeing only 525iT E34 wagons, did they not come with 3.5 or 4.0 L engines?

I saw this on autotrader.... http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/details.aspx?vlotid=5072&adid=4568633

Is that a fair price for an E34 wagon with 217K kms?

What potential problems should I look out for?

Thanks for any input/advice....

I found one but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Still debating if I should sell the E30 Cabrio or the Explorer. I need to make room in the drive way.

tourings only came in 2.5L in Canada as far as I'm concerned. If you don happen to find a good condition one, consider yourself lucky cuz they're really hard to find these days.

assuming that waggons are pretty similar to sedans, the first thing to look for is rust at the bottom of the doors. That's where it usually starts first. Control/thurst arms are also something that goes a lot on these cars, make sure they're all tight.

There's a few more maintenance things on www.bmwe34.net

u could land an early model 535 for about 5 grand now. But the condition probably wouldn't be too good.

Hi, I have a soft spot for these too, don't forget to look on ebay, there is a 530t, 3.0litre V8 on now in Chicago. Some V motors had problems with bores and were replaced with extended warranty, but I gather some were okay; maybe this one is. Lots more power than a 525i. Just about all BMW are okay to import to Canada if required.
Good luck, Trevor
