What are your thoughts on late 90s 528i?
Does it make a good daily driver? How fast are they stock?
Do they take premium or regular?
Insurance compared to other cars?
How many clicks per tank? How big of a tank?
Are parts expensive?
I have a 1997 528i 5 speed that is my only car and therefore daily driver.
It has a 65 liter tank and I get about 750kms on a tank of 91 oct. gas.
They aren't real fast as it's 190hp and 3500lbs but it is an amazing car on
the highway. So smooth and quiet it's easy to forget your going 160kph.
As with any BMW they can be costly to fix. If you drive it like it's stolen it will
drain your wallet quickly. It's a cruiser, not a racer but still the best car I have owned. It seems better every time I get in it.
As for insurance, call your provider for a quote to get a real number. My insurance went up about $300 a year from a Nissan Altima.
