brembo cross drilled rotors are very high quality... good choice.
note that your pad wear will increase with these rotors, but you also have better braking in extreme conditions.

but you also have better braking in extreme conditions.

I have to differ with that statement. Not only do cross drilled rotors fade quicker (less metal to absorb heat), but they generally brake worse then blank or slotted rotors.

They sure look cool though.

it all depends on who you ask... every article has something different to say.
i think you mean less metal to disperse heat though...

I have to agree with thinair. Brembo rotors aren't what they used to be, they use cheap rotors for entry level ( I am not talking about brembo porsche rotors). They warp easy also. Stick to stock rotors or slotted rotors. I use stock rotors on the track with very agressive race pads without any problem.

Cross drilled is for look only with the cheap brembos. I have yet to try the zimmerman cross drilled rotors.
I might just end up getting my stock rotors slotted for the track.

I guess, go to a track and see how many teams are running cross drilled.

Brembo themselves had a press release a few years back that said the same thing, they only make cross drilled because it's what customers ask for, because it looks nice.

Motorcycles and bicycles use cross drilled rotors, but more as a weight savings thing.

i got me a set of zimmerman cross drilled rotors and i'm loving them ...

brembo cross drilled rotors are drilled after being cast, it reduces its strength, i've heard stories of cracking in extreme conditions. ...

zimmerman cross drilled are cast with the holes and then just finished off

the biggest difference that ive noticed though (ive had both brands on my car) is the rotor wear... the brembos fade in circular waves in between the drilled holes .. doesn't look too good, on the other hand, the zimmerman's have a very even fade, with PBR Axxis Ultimate Ceramics :), stopping is very firm and good, but i did get them smoking once ... so hmm dunno, at autoX they proved very worthy though, had very firm and strong braking all around

hope this helps

I was pm'ed a link to elite auto, they're in TO. http://www.eliteauto.ca

I called them up.. and got a good deal.

Front cross drilled Zimmermann.....................$162/pair
Rear cross drilled Zimmermann......................$149/pair

Axxis (PBR) Deluxe front pads ... $85/pair
Axxis (PBR) Deluve rear pads ... $46/pair

$35 shipping

Total... $548.55 including tax.

That's frickin' awesome for a BMW. This brakes are way better than the OEM Brembos i had. They look great I won't be washing my wheels everyday since the pads are almost dustless.

I'll try to put a picture up today.

Hope this helps.

what about the crossed drilled and/or slotted rotors that BAVAUTO.com sells?

what about the crossed drilled and/or slotted rotors that BAVAUTO.com sells?

They are located in the US, hence shipping and customs will be more expensive than through Toronto.

But they might be good, I have never tried them.
