Well after about a month of looking at the car and deciding whether it was worth it or not we bought it. its a 1988 E28 M5. its a high miler 276,000km. The car was painted blue and the front emblem was shaved off (for what reason, its still a mystery) Origionally it was black/tan and will be painted back to black once the body work gets done.

It needs some front end work, and a body job but overall the car isnt too bad. We knew from the start that this car would be a lot of work, so its gonna be a project car for a few years. We got it for $5000, with the origional rims and 3 rondell style 58's which I am looking for 1 more to put on my e28.

Sorry no pics, but my budy is letting me borrow his e46 M3 this weekand, so some pics will arrive in a week or so.

*wave* finally part of the ///M family *par-t*

Hopefully we never have to part it out, but if it does happen I will let you know.If we did I think my dad wants the motor for his E24, but its gonna need a rebuild eventually.

Nice score.. I remember seeing that in trader a couple of times.

Nothing nicer than a black on black e28 sleeper. Good luck with the resto!

Actually the first mass produced ///M cars were the 5-Series E12 M535i made from 1979-1981.
It had a Eurospec 3.5L (218hp), dog leg tranny, 3.07 LSD, BBS/Mahle wheels, Real Recaros and optional front and rear spoilers, and Motorsport stripes.
Unfortunately, it wasn't shipped over to North America, but there are some examples in the US brought imported privately. In fact, I know one firstfiver selling one right now, and another one is selling an Alpina E12 (yes... 3.5L with Turbo), and it is authentic.
