Hi, thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Max and I've recently got a green 00' 540i 6spd. In the four weeks I've had it got AEs, e36 m3 shifter and CELIS tails,V1 + StealthOne.

I live in Rochester,NY a ferry ride away( :huh?: *mumble* ). I'll most definately try to make it to a few meets this summer - its kind of a drive, but I like Toronto.

Here are some pictures:

Some good sounds stuff is waithing to go in (Eclipse 5ch amp and Image Dynamics 12" sub), shopping for speakers and waithing on JL to release their new factory interface box.
The tires are gone(dry rot *thmbsdwn*) so some s03s would be in order shortly

You need to do weight reduction (clean all that dirt off it)

You'll get better with practice....you should be able to trap 100.

Well ,here's the thing, I've been drag racing for about three seasons on a regular basis - I have over a hundred slips and tons of bracket trophies. My maxima used to trap over a 100mph. In my past drag racing experience while the ET goes down with skill - the trap is pretty much power dependent. So while I expect the ET to drop with more experience I think the trap was either due to the weather (it was a little warm and humid) or the car itself. I don't think I can cut a 60' much better than 2.0, but there might be a tenth there.
So the plan for now is to replace the really filthy air filter with a new OEM one, and go on a colder day.

Starts are the hardest part of the race, it's virtually all won or lost at start. It would be interesting to see how an E39 acts with slicks. I'm not sure anyone has run them on an E39 here on the board...if you have, CHIME IN!!

CDV might have an impact too, no?

Maxim

Yes, CDV definately wastes time between shifts... probably a tenth over couple upshifts.
Between maybe a little better launch (I don't forsee getting much better than 1.9 with open diff on street tires) and CDV, there's porbably high 13s for the car "stock" on a colder day.

Nice 540i. Was IT HARD to put in new headlights or just bolt on?

Mechanically they bolt right in. The only thing to do is to build one harness out of the two they provide for the AE so that takes a little soldering. The tail lights are more involved IMHO.
