I was checking mine today to see if it worked but it's blowing hot air. Does anyone from Maxbimmer (Charlie) do A/C service or any other shop? I figure I better get it done now rather than having my ass toast in the heat...anyone....

I second that. No cold air coming out of my car either. I car hear the compressor turn on, but it's not blowing cold. It probably just needs some freon. I hope there's no leaks...
BMVV- what did they do to fix it & for how much? was there any leaks in the system? thanks.

He put a vacuum pump on the system to see if there was a major leak. Mine tested fine, don't know where the gas went. Then he put gas back in the system and was good from that point on. I don't remember the price as it was a few years ago, but was very reasonable. He has all the AC service tools as you all know this seems to be a problem with many cars including BMW. Call the shop and ask about cost. His name is Sandy Macnie.

Yeah I did change it and sold my old one, sorry.
The line (where the freon is added) was leaking.

my AC needs some work as well. how did he find the leak ? did he use the dye ? or was it visible to the eye? Did he also recharge the freon himself or different shop ?

No, he does not. He sends you to a guy down the street. I said that because I thought he had it. Yes, I feel stupid... *shiner*
Well the plot thickens, BMW Missisauga got the main pressure line intoday. I went and picked it up, went straight over to Charlie to get it installed. What do I find out, the a/c line was for a 318i not for the 325i. So I take it back to them and now they tell me that I will not get it until Monday! That's because it is not a part that they keep in stock but instead have at the warehouse.
While I was at Charlie's I asked him if he had the freon and that's when he told me that he will send me to someone else to get that done. Lesson learned, don't assume and post. :)
Sorry Jasper! I had my info wrong.
