i just bought two 1984 633 csi. one is gunna be used as the parts car because it needs more work. the better one has some rust buit nothing too bad. what do you guys recomend to tackle first? the engine, body, interior?

how crazy are you going to go with it?
Are you striping it to a bare shell?

I'd go with the body/frame.. that's what holds everything...

It really depends on how much you want to spend. I just had a body/ paint job dont on my E28. We pretty much stripped the car to wheels and a motor. all bumpers, mouldings, and all the interior was stripped out due to some rust that had started on the passenger side floor... and swapped that horrid tan leatherette with a black leather interior. My motor only has 177km on it so my motor wasnt much of an issue, but I cleaned up the engine bay a bit. My dad plans on doing a resto on his E24 next year, but still we have some things to finish off on my E28

If you do plan on doing a body/paint job on them I would reccomend that you take take the bumpers and mouldings off, just for overspray and you dont see a line where they stopped to paint around the mouldings.

hope this helps and good luck.

ps... drop a 3.5 in and turbo the sucker! ;)

im still not sure on how much i should spend on it. i was left with no cash after buying both of them :(. im planning on taking all of the interior out of it first and getting rid of any of the rist spots that are in there. after that im going to see what i need and take the parts out of the parts car then try to unload that for some cash. maybe after that i could do a engine swap. if ive got the cash.

I would go with the body first its more time consuming and if your gonna strip the car than you'll have access to the whole body. I just got a 635 CSi and im gonna strip it down and work on the motor on the side and hopefully get it done by mid summer.

ok. im thinking on cleaning up the interior and get everything that not working (rear window motor, sunroof motor) working. just so i can have a car to take on the wasaga cruise. then after that im might take out the motor and everything and replace the broken stuff to make it nice

If you need parts for the 633 let me know I can get some used items for that car as I work in a parts store, as far as I know we have quite a few good used parts for the 6 series.
