BBS, ACS, OZ (its ok). For your E30, I wouldn't go past 17 inch.
Good luck

The rims im looking for are racing rims cause im turing my E30 M3 into a track car, 17's are fine for that car if its on the track

^^ well i went it over with Markus Glarner and he said it would be too big to run them on a my E30 as a track car

Mystikal
04-18-2005, 09:14 PM
What is too big?

The centrebore is larger, but hubcentric rings are made to solve that issue. Good quality ones have no problems at the track and such, us 4-bolt E30's use them very often without issue.

I think the difference with the e39 rims if the hub center is not correct (correct me if i'm wrong anyone). And all bimmers with the five bolt are 5x120.

EDIT: Mystical beat me to it :D

rims dinately looks awesome on e30 m3 but not on a track setup.

I know for a fact 540i bbs 17' wheels will fit an e30 m3

the dish on them is sweeeet! you need to fill out those rear quarters

Mystikal

Why are you shopping for 17's as track wheels anyways? 15x8 Kosei K1s will provide more than enough grip with 225's, and be significantly lighter. Tires are also much cheaper.

because rudy's dad said that we cant get slicks for it

Ah racing, ok in that case, i have a buddy who owns 3 tuned BMWs and races them in Molson Indy, in Quebec and stuff on SPEED channel. He uses OZ 17 inchers the 5 dual spoked ones. I can get more info and pics for you, i saw them in his car trailer... they're awesome.
Ill give u the link, you can check it out... http://www.woodhouseav.com/racing.htm

oh you wanna buy them????
they're used. you want just one pair?
shipping charges will butt rape you cause i live in vancouver. is that ok?
http://www.ozracing.com/oz2005/index.php?lang=usa&prgname=prodotto&wcard=2005 - you'll find the info on the wheel itself. the size says 18' and 19' only but that's updated for 2005. they dont make 17' anymore.

It doesn't make sense to go for large wheels for racing.

You should have the smallest wheel possible that will fit your brakes.
You want the lightest wheels.

I would go with Kosei K-1, BBS RK or SSR Competition in 15 or 16in. The kosei are definitely made in 15".

Um, since when can't you get 225/50/15 R-compounds?

True true, i dont know what my dad told you anthony but I think Goodyear GSCS are the next best thing to slicks and they are even DOT aproved lol.

Yes Mystical, one of the e30 m3s at our race shop runs the 225/50/15 GSCSs (with kosei k1s). I think personally it is a better choice than 17s for the track.

But maybe anthony wants a dual purpose rim both looks and performance

Ok rudy, i heard ur father over the phone say that we cant get Tires for 16's cause i could have gotten the BBS RS's, Plus the car will be mostly driven on the track but maybe once or twice on the street but rarely, but whatever i think im gonna get the OZ's, I wanted the BBS RS's but there gone now

Why do you care what the wheel looks like if it's a track wheel? 16" is a bad size for tires, not much of a selection. 15" is the way to go if you don't have a BBK; lighter, cheaper tires, cheaper wheels.

craz azn
04-20-2005, 08:21 AM
Anthony, the shell my dad is looking to buy for ya has rims anyways so whats the big deal? Plus 15 has many more selections for tires. If you dont like the GSCSs, then get the special Hoosier GA Cup tires, the near same thing to the GSCSs. I agree with everyone one here, 15 is the best for the track, unless its a DTM car rim, lol
