I need a set of front pads for my 540i.
What are some of the good 'dust-free' pads out there?
Where to get them locally?!

Thanks!

dust-free is a tradeoff for squeeky pads

I had Raybestos dust-free pads on my GTP, no squeaks.

Bet ya I'm the only one, too! :D

Hawk HPS.

http://www.tunerworks.com/ sells them, site sponsor. Prices and people are good there, and they are in Canada (cheap shipping, no duty).

ohh.. i have yet to find the perfect brake pad.. they either squeel, dust, glaze over, fade or don't bite when cold.

Good luck

If you like your brake disks don't buy PBR Metal Master, that's all i know!

Don't get Hawk HP+. They brake awesomely, but the dust is insane.

Hawk HPS is no less dusty than an OEM pad, but they certainly work better.

I run Hawk HP Plus on my Golf. They're awesome! However, they squeak and squeal, make more dust than I thought possible from such a small brake pad, and if you overheat them once, they'll never be the same. You have to try pretty hard to overheat them on the street though.

Does PBR make ceramic brake pads for the 540i? That might be worth looking into. The dust is lighter in colour and will probably be a lot easier to manage.
