Just lame template usage. The SMG is only optional on the other 5 series, which you can get with a stick. The V10 only comes with SMG. Looks like they just used the template for different models but forgot that this part isn't the same across the board.

i think that page is just a mistake. though there will be a 6-speed conventional manual transmission box coming exclusively for US-spec M5 a bit later.

you can quote me on that.

i am sure they will make the transmission box available in Europe later if it's successful in North America by all means.

though, initially at least for the first 1 or 2 years, it will be only available in North America.

yes, there are a lot more manual drivers in Europe. but, BMW sold the most M5 in North America.
