Hello guys


I want to get the differential gear ratio changed ,,
the car is E34 540 with 2.93 and the suggested one is 3.25

so if I changed it to the higher one which is 4.10 how I'll deal with it ?

now the car can go for 250 Km/h if I changed it to the 4.10 what is the milage loss will be ??

and will it be justified by the drastic increase in acceleration ??

IMO going from a 2.93 to a 4.10 is way to much. I went from a 2.93 to a 3.25 and it was perfect, it revs a little higher than I would like on the highway, but that is probably because I was so used to the 2.93.

If you go to a 4.10 from a 2.93, that works out to a 39% increase in engine speed at any given RPM, which is a lot.

So say you are at 3000rpm with the 2.93, you will now run at 4170rpm with the 4.10, so its up to you whether you want to run that high.
