I have noticed that people on here and bimmerforums have been doing the yellow headlight/foglight. I decided to order these cheap Nokia yellow bulbs for my Volvo beater car(pic below).....they are actually pretty damn bright an very yellow!

I think the colour yellow is supposed to cut through the fog better.

yep, i ordered euro elipsoids for my Pug, lowbeams are yellow, highbeams *WILL* be hid. Tho they do not look good unless you have a hybrid lens with both white and yellow bulbs. just yellow, BLECH!

I researched these for a while, seems no one was finding a yellow bulb that actually shines yellow/gold, as in as bright as the Lexus IS/GS fog assemblies.

Would you call them that yellow, Dave?

Yeah, it's a France/euro thing. Our CitroŽn has white parking lights, yellow low beams, and yellow high beams. Seeing the e36's with yellow lights is just weird, the fogs look alright. That yellow theory appearently was proven wrong though.

Yellow headlamps/bulbs (fog lamps excluded) are illegal in Ontario nowdays under the current Highway Traffic Act.
Didn't used to be that way before, but it is now!
So, if you use them, you'll get nailed by the coppers.

France (amongst some others in Africa) had yellow headlamps, but as of a number of years ago, they switched to conform to rest of Europe which has white.

In fact, it's illegal (and has been for a while now) to drive even in Germany with yellow headlamps.

Older cars (before the new laws in France took effect) can still have yellow bulbs/headlamps.

Yellow light is easier on the eye - less strain, but it's not as effective as white.

here's cheap place that I've ordered from before, takes a little while due to US customs, but he sends it as a gift so no customs charges.

He's got yellows, super whites and regular bulbs all in and around the $3-$5 USD range

the bulbs are DIRT cheap and they work!
