hmmmm, see, the only thing is, factory direct is selling a ati board 9800 se for 199.00 as well. I was wondering if anyone here wanted to get rid of theirs. But the powercolour got my interest. Thanks Zimmie :)

I ll check it out!!! Im also checking out the link zimmie gave me. I was hoping for 256mb , but 128 will suffice i guess. It just means i will have to get a pci radeon 9250 to run the second monitor. I don't want the memory to be split in half per monitor!

The difference in peformace between 128 and 256 is VERY minimal.

^ how does that work. are those AGP card interchangable with macs?

5style

^yes, all modern videocards are, but they need to be flashed with a mac rom, with either nivida or ati rom flasher. Also, many older macs are agp 2x , (like mine) so not only do you need to flash the card ( extremely easy) you also need to cover connector 3 and 11 on the agp pins, to make the card function in a agp 2x slot. On newer macs, with agp 4x or greater, all that is required is to flash the rom chip.

the mac versions of all nividas and atis are identical in hardware, its just a matter of the rom software the computer reads when booting. The good thing is that it saves your old pc or mac roms, so you can later convert back. The price difference is about 150 on top of pc card price for mac. If you flash a pc card, there is no diff. in performance (same hardware) but a diff. of 150.00 plus tax :P

cool never knew that. so does this flash software distributor by the manuf (nvidia or ati) or its jst a third party?

believe it or not, its a manufacturer leaked software, both avaiable on os x. os 9 and win 98, 98se, 2000 and xp.

Most people however, do not understand how to do this, or are too scared, so thats why its not really popular, BUT it is in huge underground comunities, here, check this out : http://www.cubeowner.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=8806

Site has info on all cards.
