i wanna know how much you guys are paying for your insurance.
i have been driving for 12 years now with no accidents but i got 10 minor tickets within the last 3 years. 9 of them are coming off next feb. i'm paying A LOT of $$$$ right now because of those tickets but would like to know how much it's going to come down to. oh, if you can also recommand some insurance companies too, that'll be cool.

9 years of driving + 1 accident + 37 tickets = $6500(liability only) on a 98 540i

37 tickets

god damn!

what the hell are you doing wrong that you got booked 37 times, lol!!!

Quack
03-24-2005, 01:42 PM
the ticket count would have been 43 if I didn't out run the cops 6 times, out of those 37 tickets 36 of them were for speeding & 1 for running a amber light, do you believe that shit, I got a ticket for running a yellow, the cop had nothing better to do that day, the best warning I ever got was when I was speeding up Yonge St. to get to the Burger King before it closed, I was going at least 125km/h, got pulled over, cop yelled at me & let me go :D

it's not all drivers fault...
i think it's the insurance companies that are all scams.
we pay the one of the highest insurance anywhere in the world.
i'm sure there are worst drivers in LA and NY...and elsewhere.

I don't see how that's true, the insurance companies aren't losing any money off him, they're only gaining money, if he was claiming for lots of small accidents, then it would be another story.

I pay $1800 a year for full coverage on a 97 528i. 26 years or driving, currently with no tickets or accidents on my record.
I think that is too much. I live in the GTA now so that adds tothe cost. When I drove 200 KMs a day to work my insurance was cheaper.

The bottom line is that the more people that get caught speeding, the more premiums we all pay on a whole, and the higher the insurance rates go up, it's that simple. Just like reported accidents-the more, the worse for everyone. 37 tickets is a joke. I have no idea how he still has a licence. Luck is on his side...but for how long is the question.

37!???

4 tickets (none with points) and TD dropped me like a hot coal. $10,000/yr for my '02 Z/06 on renewal!

How do you even obtain ANY insurance with 37 tickets?!?!

Who is your insurance company?

Quack
03-28-2005, 09:27 AM
I've been kicked out of 2 insurance companies already, $10,000 on a Z06 isn't that bad, I was paying $10,000 for just liability on my 92 Lexus LS400 just a few years ago, my insurance is with a the goverment kinda like faculty insurance, ING Halifax does all the paperwork

$2600 for a 2000 M5 full coverage.
27 years experience, 0 accidents, 0 tickets (sound of wood knocking!!)

Yes! An M5 driver with 0 tickets after owning it for 3 years, unbelieveable isn't it?

BTW, this is with 3 car discount, also have home, life and biz insurance with the same agent and that helps. Hey with all that I'm still spending about $1K per month on insurance anyways....

anyone ever consider he's lying? im paying $300 month, no collision, G licence for 7 years of driving, 5 of those with a G... no tickets, no claims, no accidents... not bad in comparison to paying closer to $6000 a year on a 2001 Civic Si.

1st post here.... don't own one yet, but looking and drooling over a '94 540... I've been quoted $70/month full coverage $200 deductable on collision and fire/theft. This will be with multi-vehicle discount, plus my home/health insurance is with the same broker. Don't live in the GTA either if that makes a differnce. 16 years driving, no accidents, no convictions.

Ok so rather than starting a new thread, I am reviving one.

5 star, 1 at fault accident claim, 2000 540 full coverage, 17years experience, pleasure use is $2500

The killer is the minimum $2000 deductible on the 540 models.

Am I paying too much? I am 33y and would think that once you past 25y it would go down:mad:

bro, that's a rigged question, as premium varies from company to company. why don't you go to kanetix.ca or insurancehotline.com and shop for rates.

you are paying too much. I pay less for my M5, and I'm 28. If you look at the average on the posts in this thread you should be paying around $1600.

If you're a university graduate or work for a very large company, you can see if Meloche Monnex can cover you under group rates. I know that UofT grads can get group insurance at Meloche. You save about a third over retail.
