I have two. Used in my personal system for approx 6-8 months. These drives were installed when NEW and never removed since original installation.

Here is info/pricing from a local low-price reseller:
http://www.logiccomputerhouse.com/site/main.php?module=detail&id=84

The drive was purchased from the store above (Woodbine/denison).

$220CAD for both obo. PICKUP ONLY in Markham (Hwy 7 / Kennedy).

Recommended use: RAID 1 Mirrored for O/S and local apps.

THESE ARE ULTRA FAST DRIVES. If you don't know what they are for, please don't reply or post in this thread.

I am replacing w/Seagate ST3300831AS (SATA 300GB x 2) that is why these are for sale. My Seagates arrived today! *love*

FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED, I only have TWO.

PM, Email, MSN (Preferred). First reasonable offer will take them. I will not HOLD the drives for anyone without a $220 cash deposit. ;)

Someone is going to enjoy these! *th-up*

I know... but there's a lot of nerds here who might be interested. I'll give it a few more days before I put them up elsewhere.

What exactly would one do with such a dinky little hard drive?

Bigger isnt always better, these drives are all about data seek times...use these in a raid and theres nothing faster...nothing..
And anyone who needs a 300gb hard drive for day to day stuff or gaming has some laziness/cleaning issues

YES THERE IS ;)

2x74GB Raptors in Raid 0 :D

and jordan these drives run at 10K RPM while ur regular drive does only 7200 RPM. that's why there are so expensive for such a small drive. and u would use it only for windows and all ur games. not to store ur mp3's and all the p0rn

simple, run your OS and Applications off that volume. and you keep your data on another partition. this is the ideal setup for any server or high end workstation. 36Gb RAID 1 or 76Gb RAID 0 is more than enough for your OS and apps.

I'd be all over these drives if i didn't have HD's already. bump for awesome drives and price! these drives don't come with 5yrs warranty for nothing.

I need those 300GB drives for storing my video library. (Windows XP MCE 2005). I am going to move my 120GBx2 Barracuda's as the OS/APPS drives.

Basically twin arrays 120GB OS/APPS/GAMES and 300GB STORAGE.

I share the view across the network and watch on the other machines. Once I find a good quality XP MCE Extender, I will add the other two 400GB drives I plan to get. I wonder when 1 Terabyte SD cards will be out so I can back it all up... :D :D :D

The next step for me is to find a decent sized solid state drive capable of high bandwidth. *mw*

i learned the hardway not to put my video library and music onto stripe array. i have 2x200GB in my pvr and first i set it all up in a raid 0 array. then for some reason it all got screwed up and couldnt get anything back off of them, cuz it was stripped. so half was on one drive and other half on the other one. so completely useless running a recovery program.

right now i have one drive for recordings and the other for the already existing/downloaded stuff. so if i ever get any bigger drives i'm only hooking them up as JBOD and make one continues drive without stripin

Quoting my original post:

"Recommended use: RAID 1 Mirrored for O/S and local apps.

Anyways, I'm NOT going to provide tech support on how to set up a PROPER RAID array.

ALL PM'S REPLIED TO!

Thanks for the inquiries. *th-up*

For quite some time... Solid state hard drives are the drives of the future but i doubt HDD makers will be that fast to jump on it...Drives which never fail? Regardless of how much you R/W to it? Unheard of!

Just sent you a PM.

I am a connoisseur, not a drinker. ;) Also not a big vodka fan. Sorry man. :D

These drives are reserved for NO ONE. First one with the money or something to trade that I actually WANT will get the drives.

These drives are SOOO fast. It will be like turbocharging your PC! Your PC will run 7's in the 1/4 after installing these!* Other PC's will see nothing but your power supply fan!
