Got some Rims for my 90-535i, well at least thought I did....got through an auction house in London...anyway, have e-mail dialogue confirming that these rims are for a 5 series....but for fun today, thought I would e-mail the manufacturer "RONAL" and they tell me that they are only for a 3-series....

Here is what came off the Rims:

8J X 17H2 ET35

So is that right? These are wrong??

Here is what the Mfg said:

" Hello. Wheels are made for 3 series BMW, not 5.
Do they have a 20mm spacer in the back of the wheel, ? if so, they’ll fit, otherwise 3 series only, unless you want to send them here, and we can modify to accept spacer, but app. $75/wheel inc. spacer to do, and freight"

I am kinda P.O.'d realizing that these may not fit!!! Here is a pic of the Rims: THey are a RONAL R-7 - 17 X 8" look great!!

The wheels are 17in in diameter, 8in wide, with an offset of 35.

I don't know that much about proper offset ranges for e34's, but Ronal is most likely right. Spacers can fix your problem though.

Yeah, I am sure Spacers would work, however not really intersted in sending them to the US at $75 per piece plus some $100 plus in shipping??? I think I would just resell them in that case!

You can get away with a 15mm to 20mm spacer ( www.amimotorsports.com ). Now another thing to check is the center bore of the wheel.........sounds like it may be on the small side.

Man o' man....starting to sound like a lot of mucking around!!! Dammit!!
Think I might just flip these and put them up for sale....start over looking for some rims at the proper size.....

Being 17" 3 series, spring around the corner, I imagine I should not have that much trouble selling these eh?

You will probably be able to sell these quickly but expect a LOT of low ballers on maXbimmer. The proper and safest bolt on spacers (15mm to 20mm) from AMI go for $166/pair.

(not exact ones they sell)

What is the width of the wheels? Sounds like they the staggered M-Parallel wheels to me.

They will fit. I think the biggest you can go is 8.5" in the front and 9.5" for the rears as long as the offset is correct.

But why go 16"?
