View Full Version : Any experience with AMSOIL 0W30 oil?
Found some info regarding the AMSOIL oil claiming to surpass all the conventional brands in terms of wear reduction and etc. The mileage changing interval is pretty impressive too - 35,000 or 1 year.
Anyone used this one (http://www.allsyntheticsgroup.com/2000-0w-30.html) already? Where can you buy it in Canada?

Make sure it meets the API rating in your manual. Alot of "special" blend synthetics don't meet API standards, such as Royal Purple, even though they are good oils. The long term affects on your engine and transmission are unknown.
For example Redline tranny fluid in Getrag transmissions as those found in Supra's and E39's are no good. Supra's have had their tranny's blow because of Redline oil. Always make sur you use the recommended API oil for your car.

Hi. I personally use Mobil1, but I think if you stay with a good routine all oils are fine, in the end it comes down to personal preference. Here is a great site about all the different type of oils. Cheers

I run 0w30 amsoil in my 96 jimmy and I just changed the rear diff fuild to some of there 75w90 and all is good so far. I've read nothing but good things about amsoil.
There is an amsoil distributor in brampton somewhere, open to the public, you have to buy some sort of membership though. I use amsoil 2stroke race synthetic in my sea-doo and it runs like the first time I ever rode it.
