It's not a whole day, I am guessing around 3 hrs. We are looking to get no more than 30 cars, cost around 30-40dollars per car. All skill level welcomed. I will accept all members from maxbimmer or member's friends. We usually have a meeting before the track day for payments and rules like last year.

Some members on max joined us last year. Remember I am not only inviting ppl on max, there will be people from other places too. If you decided to ride a scooter to the track, I will let you join us for free but only off the track. Also I want to see wheelies and stoppies. LOL J/K

A nice friday evening, I'll give Linda from shannonville a call within next week for the actual date.
If you mean anti roll cage/bars. No you do not need a rollcage, but if you do have one DOT helmet is required.
Helmet is not required but highly recommended, I am bringing one.
All skill level welcome especially to newbies, coz im newbie too *sad*. Good time to get some practices on cornering/racing lines.

No there aren't any instructers, you are on your own. If you want to, you are welcomed to sit in my car for a slow spin. I will post some lapping tips and rules later on. Spectators are welcomed too.

That what I said in the first post...since no one cares I am going to book fabi.
The "Big" one will be very expensive, it's only the beginning of the season, most people aren't running long track yet.

I just didnt catch one thing.
If i have a roll cage, helmet IS required.
If i Don't have a roll cage, helmet IS NOT required, correct?

Now, if the price is in the 40$ range, and helmet isn't required(i dont have one), and im not working (i dont work friday evenings), then i should be very interested in coming(as long as my car is in good order ofcourse).

Yes you are correct. Remember the lapping will start at 5:30-6:00, you will have to leave toronto before 3:00 because of the traffic. I will skip the school that day, grab some sleep and prep the car.

I am out of school after february for 7 months, so that shouldnt be a problem. As time gets closer, and u post an exact date, i will make sure i leave that day free. As for now keep me in mind as a 80% that i will be attending.
Another issue i wanna address, as a newbie, im not planning on pushing my car/or my self to its limits, will that create a problem in any way, will i feel out of place, will i have ppl cusing me off? Just some feedback. I don't want to be surrounded by pro's, if u know what i mean. In any case, im definitely looking forward to hopefuly attending.

There will be some drivers are faster than you, you are allowed to drive any speed as you will, as long as you do not block other people from passing you. It will be fun and people are friendly, relax.

ive never been to Shannonville, will i be able to trailer my car there and have place to put my truck and trailer?

reason being is if i **** something up im 3-4 hours away from home and dont feel like calling a tow truck

E36_M_Power
01-18-2005, 02:27 PM
You'll have place to park the truck and the trailer. Unless your car is in really bad shape, but then you should not even bring it to the track, I think it will be fine....

no no its not that!

im worried if i drive it there, what if i blow the motor or something or if i roll it, how would it get it home? *wiggle*

i want to trailer it there so if i do blow the motor or roll it i can put it on the trailer and get it home

its about a 4hr drive to shannonville for me

Why do you want blow your motor?....hmm...you hate ur car... *shiner*
Towing it to shannonville could be pretty expensive, what truck is that? I have a GMC Savana 2500, from Scarborough to Shannonville is about 450kms, so 60 dollars of gas....plus rentting a trailer. *thmbsdwn*

RevShoT
01-18-2005, 05:51 PM
i have my own trailer and my own truck should run me about 100 bucks in gas for there and back, mabey more with the trailer,

point is i dont want to take any chances, im thinkin worst care senarios, if i should blow my motor or roll my car and tow truck will be extreamly expensive to tow it all the way to niagara falls

i dont plan on blowing my motor and im sure ill be fine, just dont want to get stuck with a 800 towing bill to get a trashed car home should it happen

401 East exit at #566, make a right at the stop sign, then you should see a Sunoco gas station on your left, make a right at the all way stop sign, after 2kms, track is on your right hand side, you won't miss it. I will post the directions later on in another thread.

lip? i've been running my car like that for past 2 years, and before that, I had m lip and also the suspension setup was much lower then what I have now. I was running koni adjustables with H&R race. Now I have sport spring. Anyway, Never had problem with reiger lip, my suspension holds very strong on corners. Never scratched the lip.

oh come to think of it, you never saw my car running on track, last time I saw you, I was in wrx and jetta. And you saw my car After I got it back from repaint..

anyway, thanks for your concern.

I like the part about not having to keep up with the more experienced track-day drivers. I would be willing to be passed no problem just to get some experience myself.

Dave, am I considered "experienced" enough? I'm still a noobie, but I've been to at least 6 or 7 lapping days now. :)

Ive never been to shannonville but heard much about it. Is drifting on the course allowed?

If you've been to shannonville, I doubt you'd want to drift. It's so narrow and the road surface is really harsh (lots of bumps and rough surface). Unless of course you don't mind blowing $$$ on tires. The road surface tends to rip the rubber right out.
