so you are looking for a M62, that's going cost about $2500-3000 I was looking for one a year ago & found only 2, you can try calling Daytona one of the guys there can help you find one

Is this for a replacement, or swap into a car other than an E39?

(Just curious to know if you're trying to put this into an E30 or something like that).

So you got a 4.4l for $2.5K - 3K ?

I have been finding prices like $6K - 10K.

Where is this Daytona place ?

Thanks for the reply!

Car has ~ 35K on it so I'd like to get as close to a new motor as possible.

Oh, and it's a '97

Thanks,

Rick

No BADRIDE, it's an honest to goodness E39 from 90210 with holes in the block !

Thanks guys,

Rick

I've been trying to find the number to Daytona auto but can't seem to find it, you don't need all the acessories on it do you? ie the alternator, power steering pump etc........you are just looking for the block with heads on it right?

Thou art correct.

Broken rods are not my friends.

Thanks,

I spotted that one, but the car only has 35K on it, so putting in a 185K engine is not a good option for me.

I was wondering if anyone here has done business with Bavarian in SoCal.

Thanks,

Rick

if you're talking about bavarian engine exchange, i've heard bad things about them. do a search on roadfly.

You mentioned that you broke the rod - did it put a hole in block? Maybe your engine is rebuildable?

Nevermind, I just noticed that it does have a hole in the block.

Forget the 540 engine... get the M5 Engine!

We were kinda leaning toword a Bavarian performance engine.

All the stock stuff, with a warranty, and some extra horses. ( only $500 extra ) I believe they get the extra out of cams, port/polish and balancing

I'll have to check roadfly for feedback on Bavarian. ( Thanks for the lead )

The car is still worth a decent amount of coin so I hesitate to do an engine swap on it to narrow the market if we resell.

I'm not in any hurry with the car, we wanna get it right.

I was thinking of doing that when I ran into some engine problems last year, but there was a lot of work to be done to get it right, the wiring harness, the exhaust system etc etc
