View Full Version : Where to get "IS" lip and seats?

Where is a good place to look for these items? I'd prefer answers that don't involve Ebay. I'd much rather deal with somebody local.

Also what are the going rates for these items as well?

I also noticed that a lot of people have OBX coilovers (from reading mod lists and such). Are these made of good quality? What are the spring rates on them, and how is the ride?

I currently have Bilstein sport shocks and Eibach springs...however eibach springs are utter CRAP and i bought the car with them so now i have to deal with the bs that comes with eibach such as really soft ride, leans to one side, etc.. How much do these coilover sleeves go for as well?

Here are pics of my car at it's current ride height (i want to lower it a lot more to fit my standards). I will also throw in a few more pics of my old cars just to explain what i am talking about.

And please don't go about telling me how bad it is driving a slammed car, thanks.

And now for the E30

You got an e30? I remember you of off mmto. Fil (Eurostyle) makes replica is lips.

GC > OBX but OBX will give you what you are looking for.

Funny my car doesnt lean with eibachs.. Its just raked.

If you're going for quality, I'm pretty sure that Ground Control/Koni's are the best way to go. They will cost you a good $1500 apparently, but I don't know for sure. You can tune the suspension to soft or light with the adjustibility of the shocks/stuts. You can always just get a rough idea of prices on shox.com or somewhere like that.

Also, reguarding the IS lip, it's pretty high in demand so the best thing to do would either be to get it from the dealership or keep your eye on the For Sale section of different forums, pretty rare to find them in there though.

Neither does mine. Eibach is actually one of the industry leaders, and prolly the most common found performance spring.

I think Spaz has an is lip for sale.

Eurostyle has the best prices on iS lips, they're FG replicas. Good quality. PM him.

OBX's are not good quality at all, don't buy them. The spring rates are 250/350 IIRC, something too soft. The quality is questionable in general.

Good quality coilovers are Ground Control, KW, and H&R. They're all $1400USD+, unlike Civics you don't slap on $30 coilover sleeves around here.

If you really want an E30 that slammed, you're looking at shortened front housings, seriously stiff springs (800lb/in and up likely), camber plates, and very likely some inner fenderwell tweaking. It's your car, I won't tell you what to do, but to do that properly you're going to be spending a lot of cash.
