i got my buddy 17" m3 replica wheels and tires. the wheels fit perfectly on the car no rubbing, but once he hits 90 km front end starts to shake. but when we put his 15's back on it drives perfectly. Any suggestions??? thanks *th-up*

I had the same problem on my E34 and after balancing the wheels three times and once doing a static balance, the solution was to get hub centric rings. The hub on an E34 is 74.6 (i think) and the E39 is (76.1). You can contact Tire Rack and they will sell you a set real cheap. When you get them you will probably say, WTF, this will do nothing. But it really does. Mine was so bad that I stopped twice on the 401 from Ottawa thinking the wheel bolts were coming loose.

My dad had a set of the EXACT same rims on his 535i, for all of about 2 hours...because of the extreme wobble. He got rid of those because the shake was too bad. They simply aren't built for that wheel housing.

Hubcentric spacers is what you probably need...not rings.

low profile tires require flawless suspension. mad:
Soft high profile winter tires hide suspension and alignment problems.
