Hey all...

We have a 328i and are looking at a 2.8l Z3 to replace our second car. The snows from our other car would fit size wise on a Z3, but they are 15". According to Tire Rack, there is a 15" snow package available - does that mean 15" BMW steelies will fit on this car? Is there a brake size issue (like we had with the 328i) that would cause trouble? We're new to the Z3s so any help would be muchly appreciated.

Also, would the bottlecap style E36 rims fit?

Thanks...
Mark

Hey Mark: The 15's would not fit my M coupe and IMHO I don't think the Z coupe is a good winter-driver.

welcome aboard,
Graham

Thanks Graham...

But could the Z3 be any worse than my 328?

Mark

PS Nice machine! Always loved those Z coupes!

It should fit just fine. Since your talking about a 2.8l Z3 if you go with any M roadster/coupe then the 15 will not clear the rotors hehe.

As long as you have proper snow tires it should be fine..just make sure you dump some heavy stuff at the trunk too. Btw, I drove my M Coupe last winter with Blizzaks and it was fine.

Thanks Jeff, you've put my mind at ease for today's "shopping trip". Great machine too man - we spoke once way back at the "old" e46to.

I couldn't agree more.....

My Z3 came with the 15" hub caps and snows. I hate to admit I drove my Z3 the first winter I had it, but I did. Now she sleeps during the winter, and I slide around town in my Civic (stock no rice!).

So to answer my question, yes- the 15's will work just fine.

Spud, The house in Brooklin will (hopefully) be ready next June. Once I'm out there we should go out for a cruise. I'm sure they're some cool roads out there, I just have to find them.

Don't worry im driving it again this winter. Until I get something decent the coupe will be a daily driver. I have my eyes set on a 540 or 740 next fall.
