I still can't understand why the front airbags didn't deploy with such a hard hit.

That's why. When the hit is TOO hard, the air bags do NOT deploy. The front airbags only deploy within a certain speed range. This range depends on the car make and model.
It could also mean that the front bags failed.

Maybe the car wasn't moving. that why the air bag didn't deploy.
to activate the airbag module. the module have to see 2 things. the speed and the impact sensor.

I have seen worse cars at bodyshop being rebuilt... You will see this car back on the road this is a given.
The only problem is that: Will it be done in a cheap way... or the right way...

I think the owner posted a his story here, he said that he hit the guardrail on the hwy
