I am planning on makeing my own clutch stop for my e36. I see these kits for sale but they seem so simple and dont seem to be worth the money to buy/ship. And most likely I could buy all the parts at canadian tire...
has anyone done this? if so, can you share your experiences.
if noone posts i will repost on how it went.
i am planning to do it this weekend.
any help would be appretiated

pretty simple to do..but i removed mine after a day
you need a 2" or 1 1/2" stainless 3/8 bolt, large washer and 2 3/8" hex nuts. Search bimmerforums or google for it and you'll find the info.
If you have loose clutch bushings (your clutch has lateral movement of about 1") then you will have problems with the stop either hitting the arm or the pedal, or worse, not hitting it at all on the push down but it getting caught on the return.
Also, some people report not being able to start their car, even with a 1 1/2" stop, so you might have to modify your switch.
