Need some help, I'm supposed to be getting a Brullen catback system this weekend, and what I want to know is, what's the diameter on my stock 328 system? And since Brullen offers 3", 3 1/2". 4" and 5" Diameter, I don't know what I should be getting. Will I get any performance increase with any of those? Tried doing a search on this but couldn't find a straight answer. Any help would be appreciated *th-up*

I wouldnt wan't to be going larger than probably 3" as the larger you go the lesser amount of backpressure which is only going to be advantageous hp wise for a bit. Generally people only use a 4" or larger if the car has a turbo.

Feel free to correct me on this though.

You are very likely looking at tip diameters. Those are not piping sizes.

OK...I'm a newb...will their piping from the cat back be the same size as I have now, and just different diameter tips? Need some advice :)

don't they usually bump up the inlet piping to 2" 1/4? 3 inch is bug, as Jay said it is probably the tips they are talking about. My brullen inlet was a 2"1/4

OK thanks, learn something new, thought that you get to choose the inlet size which I wasn't sure of...appreciate it

i hate loud exhausts, i dunno, its just not me, i bought a ACS wide chrome tip, i think it looks sweet adds a few decimal levels to teh sound but almost nothing, plus BMW stock exhausts are rated very high. thats just my .02

if you don't want to go to big justr tell them to go the next size up from the stock exhaust, that's what I did with mine, be sure to ask for the quiet exhaust because even for quiet it's pretty loud

One more question, is Brullen's catback system ONE piece, or is it the muffler with CUSTOM piping? Because if it's custom I could just buy the muffler and get the piping done cheaper right? Please correct me ASAP :)

2.5" inlet should be enough. I wouldn't go 3" unless you go forced induction.
I think stock is 2 1/4"

Doesn't look likely that I'm getting it this weekend, I tried calling Brullen all day and didn't get an answer once, either they were real busy or just not answering the phone, heh.

Bump on my earlier post too...
