Can't we just wait on the highway for these guys and just speed on the highway beside them, that way we don't have to pay for anything, except the tickets!

the only reason why they pay so much is because of the 5 star hotels & crazy open bar parties they have, we can setup our own cannonball run and we can stay in Motel 6 LOL

^^LMAO!...i like this idea..but that kinda takes away from the whole experience because you wanna be driving hard...and partying even harder...and all to be pampered like a baby afterwards as u get your wee hours of sleep :D

jokes aside,

$7500 split between driver and passenger isnt that bad.

this is what was included for the Euro cannonball:

- All sea crossings for you and your car
- Hotel accommodation at each destination (based on twin/double rooms)
- A cold beer waiting the moment you arrive at each hotel!
- Secure overnight parking
- Breakfast each day
- All evening meals with wine & mineral waters (not unlimited)
- VIP entrance to party nights at some of Europe's coolest clubs (if you make it in time!)
- Fully detailed route books for the pre-driven selected routes
- Official Cannonball car decals and door numbers for your car
- A shot at the title, trophy and free entry into next years event
- Final night gala and awards ceremony at a prestige UK venue
- Special souvenir gifts for all Cannonballers taking part
- Services of the Cannonball Event Managers, Checkpoint Crews, Photographer and Film Crew
- 250,000 Tour operator insurance and 2,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.

Not included:
Petrol, toll payments, travel insurance, mechanical breakdown cover & incidental expenses

--------------

you are talking several hundred bucks per person in value right there.

the question for me is, what are the demographics of the participants?

will they mostly be from out of the country, or do alot of locals sign up? i am sure the european one is mostly european people, but the american gumball was mostly americans i beleive.

in this case, the organizers will need canadian participants.

i doubt you could have a better vacation than this... cross country with this kind of troop.

speeding is not necessary. if you have seen some of the videos of various activities like this there are alot of people that enter with slow cars, or luxury cars and just cruise at a steady pace in time for each nights event.

it might be a good networking opportunity as well...

i am thinking i will be in as well.

Tim Porter will be in Ontario next month and we may meet up, i have already spoken to him via e-mail. would some of the guys here that are serious want to meet up as well?

if i cant drive in the event i would still like to help out and do some leg work for it.

there has got to be some big boys here that want in for sure though.
