I think the comment above was said with sarcasm, you gotta remember, you have a 12 year old AUTOMATIC 325.... i'm not saying the car is bad, but the 92's weren't the best of the bunch, they had the most problems, the non-vanos, and don't wanna be a dik or nothing but just because your car won a few shows doesn't make it worth more money, all honesty, you'd probably get CLOSE to 12 if you were to part everything and sell the car for a fair price!

09-11-2004, 11:47 AM
well no offense but everyone on this board is cheap as hell and i wouldnt expect to get anything for my car on here

just thought ide post up

09-11-2004, 03:07 PM
Compare your car to others on trader.ca .. you are waay over your league at that price.

where did you get that??

non-vanos= more horsepower?!?!?!

Not to sure where your getting your information from, but you sir and dead wrong!

And i'm not too sure what you meant by "well no offense but everyone on this board is cheap as hell and i wouldnt expect to get anything for my car on here" ........ its just that nobody wants to spend 12g's for a car thats worth maybe half. Wasn't it YOU who was too CHEAP to spend 2500 for an M engine cause of 6 tickets that you may or may not get charged for!!

good luck with the sale though!

non vanos M50= rev happier/more boost friendly (stock vs stock)

09-11-2004, 04:59 PM
Exactly, but just because its rev happy doesn't give it MORE POWER!

09-11-2004, 05:33 PM
compare #'s from 92 to 93

the 92 ran better it was quicker in the 1/4 then the vanos

and sorry for the person that said half for my car, 6000 is a joke

10,000 bone stock 155.000KM

9,400 bone stock probally high KM's

honestly.. i think $12k is not a bad price for what you're getting. (especially since he said OBO .. so you're more looking at $11,300 or so...) The only real downside is it's automatic. But I'd pay the extra $2000 - $3000 for a car without any problems / great condition. Winning car shows tells something about the condition of the vehicle (appearance wise at least... but you can tell a lot by how a car has been treated)... how many 92 e36's do you see that can still win car shows?

As for the VANOS thing... I think it's just personal preference. I personally prefer Non-Vanos 325's... I'm dropping an 325 engine in my car and I'm sticking with a Non-Vanos. The M50 (non-vanos) engine has hooter cams than the M50tu (vanos). More lift + duration. 240/9.7mm intake and 240/9.0mm exhaust. M50tu was something like 228 duration / 8.9mm lift. Not to mention the M50 has 1mm thicker valve stems, and wider lifters than the M50tu US motor which have single valve springs + lighter valvetrain components to save weight. Plus there's not a VANOS unit to replace every 6-10 years. I know people will argue me on this... and go ahead, really doesn't make a difference to me... as I said, it's personal preference.

Anyway... I say it's a good buy. I bought my 92 318i for $10,500 a few years back... which many would say I got ripped off. However, the problems I've had with it are minimal---it was taken care of from the get-go. The condition it was in when I bought it was immaculate---and as we all know BMW repairs creep up on us and can knock our wallet down $500-$1000 at a time in some instances. Better to get a car which was taken care of, pay a few extra bucks today and save yourself the headache tomorrow. People still think my car is a 97-98 from the condition it's in.

Not to mention the car in question (Revshot's 325) only averages 11.5km per year... for a 92 that's very low km.

And all though mods don't add much to a car's value... I'd pay the extra bucks to have projectors + angel eyes already in there and the OEM M3 front bumper.

He already listed everything wrong with the car.. you know what you're getting into. Not to mention the problems listed aren't serious at all.

I've never dealt with RevShoT with anything yet, so I can't comment on how credible his description is. But I say bump it for an reasonably priced car.

edit: Post some pics up... pictures speak louder than words. I may change my opinion after I see what it looks like. Put some pics up of the problems you mentioned... (i.e. unmatched paint + rust spot, etc.)

RevShot, let me know how much you get when you sell. I think I might put mine up aswell so I could buy Jeremy's E30:)

Just kidding man:D
I was serious about wanting to know how much you let it go for though. Shoot me a PM when she's gone.

I would not pay more then 4-5 grand for those early e36.
To me they look dated with stock headlights. Again soldomatic made good point about being aware of non vanos M50 .

09-12-2004, 10:17 AM
....which is why i bought brand new projector angel eye head lights... and clear corners.....
