Yeah the self leving suspension (LAD) is pretty expensive to fix. After time they usually start to leak if it's not maintained well. go to roadfly.org they have an amazing forum for 7 series.
What is the problem with it exactly??
08-28-2004, 11:14 PM
Hey cwiniarz....well, I dunno! It only says it on the dash...drives pretty nicely, tires sorta squeel on turns (maybe because im going to fast?)
Im more concerned about it only because it says it on the dash. And I don't know, is it because its an old car or something? but when igniting the engine, I have to keep holding the key to that position for a few secs (is that bad?)

Christ, 90 litres? I couldn't imagine spending near $100 every time I wanted to fill my tank from empty... thats crazy! Whats the milage on yours Chris?

Lennon - 16mpg in City 22 on highway it's not too bad about the same i got with my integra, just a bigger tank.
BMW FAN - THe car should start pretty much instanaeously, it could be your fuel check valves, meaning it's not holding pressure in the fuel line when you shut the car off. I have the same problem when i shut off and i try to start the car in 2 hours or so. COld start are ok but when still a little warm it take a bit longer. I'm going to do the vavles next week, they are really cheap and it's an easy fix. That's if it's the problem. As for the self leveling that could be showing up if you have too much load in the back or if it's a faulty sensor or something.
I dont know much about the car yet to tell you since i've only had mine for about 2 months. Like i said go to Roadfly.org there are alot of people with knowledge about this specific model

Yeah I've been reading stuff on that forum, its just annoying with that layout they have.
I've also read that the LAD prob happens all the time or something in these early models and that most of the time ppl just ignore em. I don't know what to do really, and afraid at the same time spending more $$$. I really am not too familiar with the components under the hood - still to recieve my manual...and it certainly looks much different than our E36.
I think you might be right about the valves because if I start the car within the hr or two, not really a problem. Let me know what happens when you do yours...and if its as cheap and easy as you say Im definately going to need it done!
Wow, only 2months eh! I really love 7s.

You can also try injector cleaner i heard that helps a lot. Go with either the Redline, or BG44k I think that what it's called. I used the Redline stuff it worked really well, but hear the BG44k stuff is the best. I dont know where to get though
