I guess Tom Hnatiw has't tried a BMW with one of my chips or OBD-II software. :)

Here's a paragraph from the article:

Reprogrammed chips basically change the parameters within the engine management computer, usually to change the fuel/air mixture, and most often only at wide-open throttle. While the engine may make a bit more power when the pedal's on the carpet, it will likely get poor fuel economy and may even make less power while suffering drivability problems lower in the rev range.

I wonder what type of chips he's tried? :confused:

i think he's talking about a generic ECU bypass chip... the $1 ones you get off eBay which are simply a resistor...

don't forget the following paragraph:

Hnatiw says there are some experts who have developed chip programs that find worthwhile power improvements, but he'd want documented proof of claims before spending money on a chip.
