My 240 is gone and I was looking into leasing and 330i M Sedan. What i couldn't find on the bmw.ca website is whether it comes with LSD or not. I know that the american version ZHP doesn't have it, but was wondering if the canadian one has LSD or not.

Would be big turn-off if a car like this didn't have LSD.

1) insurance is rape...especially for the younger guys(under 25)

2) maybe not interested in so much power

3) hear lots of horror stories about 01' engines and them not being 'reliable'...even heard something about bmw extending the warranty on the engine itself.

You won't be dissapointed with 330iM. You *could* buy a 3.15 dinan differential for it if you wanted to, its not limited slip but it would still further increase perf. I can't buy it because I have 2.5 :(

i know i won't be disappointed with that car, and you do get a lot for little money and there's warranty on the car, but I just feel that LSD should have been at least an option on that car.

By the way do LSDs void the warranty?

They are all custom made and the cheapest ones are like $3-4k USD. Racing purposes only, really.

BMW is realizing that 98% of their buyers don't even know what an LSD is, so they just exclude them in all new models except for the real M's. If you really want a good sports sedan for less than $75k, they stopped making them after the E36 M3/4. Buy one of those.

The BM salesman told my parents when we got the car that LSD is a mechanical version of traction control...

My mom swears that the LSD has gotten her out of many bouts of snap oversteer (I have no clue how she manages to fishtail when she doesn't want to when I have trouble getting the rear end loose in the rain when I DO want to). Even through LSD doesn't straighten oversteering cars- it's all in the mind...

Salesmen are paid to lie.

If your mom is powering out of slides then an LSD would be helping her, but otherwise...
