Yeah, "most" of it seems accurate, however....

1. There is some discrepency in the VW group,
2. If there is Lexus by Toyota, than Where is Acura.... Infiniti?
3. What's Samsung doing there?

yeah hyundai owns kia

-samsung is there because they make cars in korea

-I guess the person who made this forgot acura and infiniti... just count them as honda and nissan

-daimlerchrysler no longer holds those shares in hyundai, and the 37% of mitsubishi will most likely be reduced now that they voted against putting more money into the company

-I didn't know rover and mg are a company on their own, I thought it was rover, land rover, mg, and mini before bmw kept mini and sold all of rover group to ford

hopefully this will clear up alot of arguements with my friends. They didn't believe me that Ford owns Mazda and that the new Mazda 3 is just a Ford Focus.

as what i've read a while back, daimlerchrysler kicked out mitsubishi because they were like "parasite" :D

so does the size of each circle correlate to anything? Like how succesful they each are? Cause if so, bmw is kinda poor

^^ yes they did, that pictograph is not entirely accurate but MB bought chrysler with the efforts to make it seem like a merge

DaimlerChrysler owns Chrysler & Dodge and in the future it might be possible that they will get rid of Dodge or Jeep (ie sell it) if the needs be.

Porsche has close ties with VW group so how come it is not reflected in this chart is kinda question up there

Damn GM though has hands on everthing.

PS: Have you heard that Toyota is #2 car manufacturer worldwide and their 2ndQ profits exceeded combined profits of GM&Ford(#1 & #3)

Not really. The current Focus is on a different platform.
Mazda 3 and the new Volvo S40 share the new platform. The NEXT Focus will get it, but not the current one. That is a new platform, and focus has been around for several years already.
