Are you sure it's a 4.10? Did you test it? What you do is make a mark on the housing... spin the diff and count how many times that it takes you to get back to that spot... if both side spin together, then it's LSD, if not, then it's open...

I bet that it's a 3.73...

yes ive checked it already...its a 4.10...theres also a code on the diff saying its a 4.10....i had it in my 325e before...took it off cause my max speed dropped to about 120-130kms....

the coding is not what I am asking you... someone could have changed the internal gears and whoi knows whatelse... have you marked it and done the rotation on it?

Mike.

If it was on an auto, it's a 4.10, you're taking it kinda far man.

Also just mucking it up some more, but didn't ALL 325is' come with LSDs standard, even the slushies?

no worries... I just want to make sure before someone gets the wrong idea..

I would prefer a 4.10LSD and I will look into how hard it is to change the guts...

thanks,

But really, it IS a limited slip. If it's not, it wasn't an 'is.

that is why I am thinking that it's a 318...

And I'm just telling you that it should very well be an LSD in that case (which makes your sale even easier).

And you could easily tell if it was a 318 diff by just looking at it (small case).

Didn't LSDs also have a letter code somewhere on the cover or the sides?

If it is truely an 88 is automatic, it should 4.1 LSD for sure. Of course if the owner of that car didn't swap it with something later from one reason to another.

Listen, e30 325is autos came with them, as did the e30 cabrio autos both are limited slip. I just bought one. It should have a big "S" stamped right on it and there is a tag on it that would say its a 4:10 it sort of resembles a vin # tag. also turn it and see if they spin together...

SO LET THE KID SELL HIS DIFF, AT 150$ SOMEONE IS STEALING THIS THING I JUST PAID $400*smoke*

That one is incorrect. It's totally unrelated to this thread but it had to be corrected.
