Easily the very most important mechanical system on your entire car in reguards to safety. Don't skimp...

Buy the parts you need, and swap them yourself. Brake work is insanely easy. If you can't do it yourself you shouldn't be driving.

Brakes are brakes... the size and shapes change, but for the most part it is all the same, and all pretty damn simple at that.

BMW brake systems are actually really easy to work on. Changing all 4 sets of pads, and all 4 rotors is less then 1 hours work.

Why not? I swap before track events, and it takes about 45min.

Keep in mind that this is after you've done it a few times. 1st time will probably take you a lot longer, just to get stuff right. A weekend afternoon is great for learning car tech :) There are pleant of DIY links ... just google it.
