When the weather gets hot(ie in the summer) my car was acting up.
In the winter it starts right away but in the summer, I had to crank and/or pump gas pedal at least 3 times.

We put some injectors no go!
We put a used fuel pump. no go!

Then I came across this part mentioned on roadfly e30 forums and got it from T&C BMW Markham for $5 and this sucker solved all that headache and emberrassment

Fuel pump check valve from BMW for about $5.50
part # "16 14 9 068 988"

Phew!

Hey john,
I just read the link you posted.....so basically the fuel pump check valve is something our cars dont already come with? Bcus from what i read the guys seem like they are deciding where to put it, and it doesn't seem like they are just replacing a part

Actually Fuel Pump Check Valve is built in to the pump on our cars. This small piece is from 7 series(i couldn't convince the BMW parts guy to give me this part as soon as he learned I have an e30). Basically it is a hose with valve in it. Replacing the fuel pump with a brand new one might lead the same result they say(I read it from archives) if the injectors are not leaking but of course costly. So, trying this solution is the cheapest elimination of possibilities.

If you like to read more make a search on above forum with the keywords 'Fuel pump check valve'.

Good luck
