Okay guys, I know a lot of you are experts in bmw mechanics so I was wondering if any of you would know why does this stupid little "battery looking" light come on and off while I'm driving. Its a 2000, 323 and I never expereinced anything like that in my old cars. Is it like a warning sign or something? or is maybe cause the battery wires are loose. I always thought that the battery recharges itself while driving so why would this light come on (is it maybe becaues its not recharging anymore??) any advice would be greatly appreciated.

check the connections to the battery....if they are good then it good be that you got a bad battery or it is finishing its life(doubt it)....any other inputs?

that light usually means that the alternater is not recharging the battery, so maybe your alternator is starting to show signs of breakdown.

that light indicates your alternator isnt charging the battery.
eg. not producing enough amps to keep your accessories on , and still charge the battery.
