Cops generally let me fly by them at 50 over the limit, I've been lucky numerous times now. So that sign makes sense. :D

Is it really legal to have those radar detectors in the States? or is it just legal to buy them but illegal to used them or something like that?

Now, can someone be kind enough to explain to me the point in that? Or is it just one of the many f****d up laws in Canada?

it's one of those messed up laws, same goes with a police scanner, you can buy one, listen to what's going on, but if you use the information you hear for your advantage the cops can arrest you for it

btw the speed limit is still too low, gotta add a 1 in front of the 70 :D

"police scanner" huh? - I'd love to get my hands on one of those, where can I buy one?( That would give me something other to do than post irrelevant information in the off-topic section lol)

you would have to find the new police scanners, the Toronto & OPP cops have switched to a new digital system, not many places carry these new digital police scanners, you can buy the old ones for about $500 don't know how well they work now

i guess the only way to use a radar detector is to hardwire a V1 in ur bimmer. That way the actually hardware isn't sticking out and u don't have to hide it...
Canada's messed eh?

My next door neighbour got pulled over at Darknights in his 94 corrado vr6 and got 3 tickets. One for failing to surrender his license another for exhaust tip being to big and the third for the radar detector. It all depends on the cop I have heard some just take it away and others take it and ticket. peace boys

Problem is, even with the new Spectre they can detect your detector. V1 can detect the radar in a specific range before the spectre will detect the v1 in your car. But you gotta be fast to turn off the v1, and it's hard when you wonder if the blip is just some cop going by on the other side of the road, etc.
